Finance Director

Statement of the Job: The Finance Director serves on the senior management team to provide leadership in the area of finance and technology. Responsible for all financial processes, transaction accounting and reporting, payroll; the internal control system; preparation of financial forecasts and budgets; financial analysis and support of other staff members; and oversight of IT for the organization. 

Required Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant or a Bachelor degree in accounting, business, fiscal management or related field; 3-5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience; Fund accounting experience, preferred; Experience with external monitoring and auditors preferred; Advanced computer skills; Outstanding oral and written communications skills; and Strong organizational skills to provide timely administration of assorted duties.


 

Family Education Specialist

Statement of the Job: The Family Education Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and monitoring to home-based Early Head Start program staff. The Family Education Specialist is responsible for the daily management of the services in this component and for the assurance of compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act and other necessary guidelines while ensuring smooth operations and developmentally appropriate services are being delivered in respectful and responsive environments.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling and/or psychology. Prefer minimum of two years supervisory experience.  


 

Early Head Start/Head Start Assistant Teacher

Statement of the Job: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for contributing to the planning, implementation and coordination of the comprehensive education program. The Assistant Teacher supports the teaching team in ensuring that the education program is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children as mandated by Head Start and state and local standards.

Required Qualifications: A Child Development Associate credential (CDA); or enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development and one year’s experience is required.


 

Kitchen Co-Lead

Statement of the Job: Oversee food preparation, delivery, service, and documentation of meals in accordance with established standards of nutrition, health, and sanitation to all Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms.  Provides program and nutrition support consistent with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations, Kansas State licensing, and applicable Head Start Performance Standards (HSPS).

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and experience in a responsible position; Ability and willingness to support and follow all program regulations; Ability to problem solve and respond appropriately to the unexpected (staff shortage, equipment malfunction, etc.); and Working knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures prescribed for kitchen production.


 

Head Start Substitute Teacher

Statement of the Job: To provide coverage and support in the classroom as needed due to absence of regular full/part time employees.

Required Qualifications: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field with a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood or Child Development and one year’s experience is required.


 

Office/Kitchen Substitute

Statement of the Job: The Office/Kitchen Substitute will provide coverage and support at the front desk or in the kitchen as needed due to absence of regular full/part time employees.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and experience in a responsible position is required.
