Kitchen Assistant, Part-time

Statement of the Job: The kitchen assistant is a part-time position and will assist with food preparation, delivery, service, and documentation of meals in accordance with established standards of nutrition, health, and sanitation to all classrooms. This position also provides program and nutrition support consistent with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations, state licensing, and application Head Start Performance Standards.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a responsible position.

 

Family Support Advocate

Statement of the Job: As a Family Support Advocate, you will work as a liaison between the family and childcare providers onsite and help parents identify family strengths and needs, set self-sufficiency goals, and access community support agencies. You will also support families in the application, enrollment and selection process. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engage in monthly contact with an assigned caseload over the phone or in group activities to promote partnership and provide regular communication.
  • Ensure families are meeting minimum attendance requirements during the available childcare hours on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct intakes by appointment and during walk-in registration.
  • Assist the program in maintaining full enrollment.
  • Accompany and assist your caseload's teachers on two home visits and parent-teacher conferences each year.
  • Communicate and document all information shared by the family in regards to their eligibility with the Kansas Division of Children and Family Services (DCF) with Early Head Start & Head Start Administrators.
  • Document all family contact and track family follow-up needs and family goals in Child Plus.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed and assist other staff with critical families.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
  • Prior experience in home visitation a plus.
  • Awareness of available resources within the community.
  • Knowledge of Kansas licensing and Head Start Performance Standards a plus.

Early Head Start Teacher (Full-time)

Statement of the JobThe Teacher is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and coordination of the comprehensive education program for their classroom. This position helps deliver an education program that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children as mandated by Head Start, state and local standards. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-quality early learning
  • Support and provide continuity of care to help children develop secure relationships.
  • Attend and participate in training, engage in coaching with your supervisor and develop plans for your own professional development.
  • Create home/school connections by developing effective partnerships with families.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood preferred. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or bachelor’s degree or willing to enroll in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire, at a minimum.
  • Prior experience teaching in an early learning environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kansas licensing and Head Start Performance Standards a plus.

 

Substitute Teacher

Statement of the Job: Substitute Teachers provide coverage and support in the classroom as needed due to absence of regular full/part time teachers.

Required Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field with one year’s experience is required.


 

Office/Kitchen Substitute

Statement of the Job: The Office/Kitchen Substitute will provide coverage and support at the front desk or in the kitchen as needed due to absence of regular full/part time employees.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and experience in a responsible position is required.
